Part of my Ticket Around the World series, Language of Blossoms reflects memories of living in Southeast Asia, where beauty was often found in quiet moments and unspoken gestures. Built on raw canvas with intuitive mark making and fragments of katagami paper—traditional Japanese stencil paper used in kimono making—the painting balances history, texture, and simplicity.
